OUR VISION:

Our corporate purpose is long-term success, which we achieve through extensive organic growth. In this way, we provide security and stability for our employees and fulfil the needs of our corporate clients for innovative and unique products and services.

OUR MISSION:

As a transport company, it is our goal to become synonymous with setting new quality and service standards in and beyond the Asian market: The Atlantic Standard.

The history of Atlantic begins in 1979, in Switzerland, when Theo Ernst founded Atlantic Forwarding Ltd. Because of his long experience in overseas transport, combined with his clear vision and existing contacts, Theo Ernst chose Asia as the new, booming market. Subsidiary companies were founded, the very same year, in Hong Kong, Taiwan and South-Korea. So, it was in 1979 that, with only 16 employees, one of the most successful transport companies was born.

Its very personal and familiar way of dealing with employees, partners and customers, as well as the proficiency of its management provided the young company with a quick growth. Therefore the amount of dispatched transports multiplied itself every year.

Between 1986 and 1988, Oliver Ernst took over the existing partners in Japan and Thailand and changed them into Atlantic subsidiary companies. Not only did the amount of transports show a constant growth, but the number of employees increased. So, at the end of the 1980s, there were more than a 100 persons working for Atlantic.

Despite the fierce competition and the worldwide recession in 1987, Atlantic not only held its dominating position in Asia, but expanded it. High quality and fair prices has always been the motto of Atlantic.

In the nineties Atlantic began another expansion of its worldwide network. A solution for the new customer requirements and the growing ware supply of Southeast Asia had to be found. With the birth of subsidiaries in Singapore, Indonesia, Vietnam and Malaysia, Atlantic covered the most important emporiums of Southeast Asia. In the meantime, nearly 200 employees were part of the Atlantic family.

As a company with strong bonds with Asia, Atlantic followed with great interest, in the late eighties, the political situation in China. With the opening of China, in the nineties, Atlantic was one of the first companies to implement subsidiaries in Shanghai and Shenzhen. Qingdao, Dalian, Xiamen and Beijing followed, before 1997. In 2001 a subsidiary company in Ningbo was founded. With this eighth and last subsidiary, Atlantic covers the most important emporiums and harbours of China. Hence, Atlantic can offer all transport services there.

At the time of its 20th company anniversary in 1999, Atlantic had an exceptional Asian network of 23 subsidiaries. The Atlantic Group was one of the five biggest transport companies in Asia and Europe. The Atlantic family embraced more than 300 employees. With massive investments in the IT sector, Atlantic was able to optimize the costs. Furthermore, the e-commerce sector could be enlarged with new products and services and the overall quality could be improved. This was the basis for a new and strong growth for the new millennium. After 20 years, the list of new partners and customers seems endless, especially in the American, South-American, and Oceanic sectors, where the number grows each day.

Today, the Atlantic Group employs over 400 people, and its networks consist of 28 offices in Asia and India, as well as 15 offices in Europe.

Our success is based on a strong collaboration with our partners, customers and employees. Competence is the key for Atlantic as well as for its partners. As a community we follow the values of the Asian family: Trust, Respect, Responsibility, Loyalty, Solidarity, Harmony and Prosperity are the fundamentals of our philosophy and ethic.

We want this constant and homogeneous growth to go on, in order to maintain our long-term success. With our innovative and unique products and services we already satisfy the needs and demands of our customers and we intend to keep doing that in the future.

To master this difficult task it is important to detect the new trends and developments as soon as they appear. As Atlantic did with the Internet. Early, the company understood the potential of this new media and, with its new innovative e-services, offers a high tech platform for logistic information management.

With our exhaustive network, the long-term experience of our employees and our personal and familiar relations with customers and partners we will be able to handle the challenges of the new century.
